The National Museum of Racing and Hall of Fame celebrated the 30th anniversary of renowned artist Greg Montgomery’s famed Travers Stakes poster series with a special exhibit entitled Greg Montgomery: 30 years of the Travers. This exhibition featured each of Montgomery’s 30 Travers Stakes posters from the inaugural work in 1986 through the 30th anniversary edition, “Crossing Union,” which was unveiled exclusively at the opening reception on June 13 (read more here).
Along with the Travers posters, this special exhibition featured additional racing artwork by Montgomery, preparatory studies of the inaugural poster and the stories that inspired this iconic collection.
