2026 Rood & Riddle Equine Hospital Tours

Go behind the scenes at the Rood & Riddle Equine Hospital in Saratoga Springs and discover all the various types of care and treatment it takes to keep racing’s star athletes happy and healthy.

Tours are complimentary, courtesy of the New York State Thoroughbred Breeding and Development Fund. Each tour is limited to 20 guests and available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Participants will meet on the Rood & Riddle campus at 10 a.m., where they will meet and be guided by a facility staff member.

Hall of Fame Member Museum Tour

Join a member of our Hall of Fame for an exclusive tour of the National Museum of Racing and Hall of Fame! These one-of-a-kind tours last one hour and include a showing of the Museum’s signature film, What it takes: Journey to the Hall of Fame.

  • Members: $25
  • General public: $30

Tours will be held every Wednesday at 11 a.m. starting July 15 through Sept. 2.

  • Adult (18-64): $25
  • Senior (65+): $20
  • Student (6-17/college with ID): $15

Explore the history of American thoroughbred racing from the Colonial Era to the present day on a guided tour led by our expert docents. Each tour is followed by a screening of our signature film, What it Takes: Journey to the Hall of Fame. Tours are available year-round upon request.

2026 Saratoga County Farm Tour Series

Experience the heart of New York’s thoroughbred industry as the National Museum of Racing and Hall of Fame visits six of Saratoga County’s premiere breeding and training centers.

The 2026 Farm Tour dates and locations will be announced spring 2026.

Tours are complimentary, courtesy of the New York State Thoroughbred Breeding and Development Fund. Each tour is limited to 30 guests and available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Participants will meet at the farms at 10:30 a.m., where they will meet and be guided by a facility staff member.

Tom Durkin Exclusive Museum Tour

Join legendary racecaller Tom Durkin for a unique and entertaining tour experience of the National Museum of Racing and Hall of Fame! These special tours last one hour and include a showing of the Museum’s signature film, What it Takes: Journey to the Hall of Fame.

Oklahoma Training Track Exclusive Tour

Exclusive tours of Saratoga Race Course's Oklahoma Training Track!
  • Member: $15
  • General public: $30
  • NOTE: Each participant will receive a complimentary Museum admission pass following the conclusion of the tour.

Find out why this beautiful and historic site, located across the street from Saratoga Race Course, is a favorite base for the nation’s leading trainers. Our behind-the-scenes tours, offered in cooperation with the New York Racing Association, are available from May through October. This walking tour covers approximately 1.5 miles and lasts for 90 minutes.

Sturdy walking shoes are suggested!

Note: Each participant will receive a complimentary Museum admission pass following the conclusion of the tour.

Tour participants must be at least 10 years old. No children in backpacks or strollers, no umbrellas.

The tour begins promptly at 9 a.m. You will meet your tour guide and check in at the front desk in the Museum lobby. Reservations are required, and spaces are limited! Please make sure you leave a phone number where you can be reached from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. You will be contacted only if the tour is cancelled due to weather.
