Breeders' Cup handicapping and viewing party Nov. 1 at the Museum
SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. — The National Museum of Racing and Hall of Fame will play host to a Breeders’ Cup handicapping seminar and viewing party on Saturday, Nov. 1 from 3:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. The event is free to attend and open to the public.
The program kicks off with a handicapping seminar featuring the Museum’s Brien Bouyea and Michael Veitch at 3:30 p.m. Bouyea and Veitch will analyze the day’s Breeders’ Cup races, answer questions from the audience, and make predictions. This year’s Breeders’ Cup will take place at Del Mar Racetrack in California. The Saturday card will include nine championship races, headlined by the $7 million Classic.
Along with enjoying the racing action in the Hall of Fame theater, guests will have the opportunity win prizes throughout the afternoon by correctly answering Breeders’ Cup trivia questions. Food will be available for purchase from Ted’s Fish Fry (from 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.). Beer and wine will also be available for purchase and water will be complimentary.

Photo Finish exhibition opens Nov. 1
The Museum’s sixth annual Photo Finish exhibition will also be opening on Saturday, Nov. 1.
Located in the Museum’s von Stade Gallery and also available for viewing on the Museum website, Photo Finish features selected amateur and professional photographs that document the thoroughbred racing experience, from a serene moment on the farm to the exhilaration at the finish of a race. Each image captures an element of the strength, beauty, and emotion of the sport. Photographers from 10 states are represented in the exhibition. The onsite exhibition will run through Dec. 28. The online exhibition includes all photographs exhibited at the Museum, as well as additional selections.
This year’s Photo Finish judges, representing both the racing and arts communities, include National Museum of Racing and Hall of Fame Collections Committee member Ken Grayson, professional photographer Jim McCue, Keeneland Library Director Roda Ferraro, and New York Racing Association Content Producer Matthew DeSantis.
