August events at the National Museum of Racing and Hall of Fame
SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. — The National Museum of Racing and Hall of Fame will present several events throughout August coinciding with the Saratoga Race Course meeting.

Saturday, Aug. 1 — Racing and Rosé Fashion Show with Miss Scarlett Boutique
Time: 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
About: Join us for a vibrant fashion show and brunch at the Museum, showcasing racing-inspired style curated by Jennifer Marcellus of Miss Scarlett Boutique, including her original designs. The fun starts at 10:30 a.m. in the Beautiful Pleasure East Garden to meet and mingle with special guests and sip on Old Tavern Farm Winery rosé. The main event starts at 11:30 a.m. — enjoy rosé from 90+Cellars, snack on light fare courtesy of PDT Catering, and explore the Museum’s Sculpture Gallery. Around noon, the racing-inspired fashions of Miss Scarlett Boutique will take center stage with host Acacia Clement, as women from Saratoga and the racing world present a one-of-a-kind fashion show throughout the Sculpture Gallery.

The morning’s programming will include a handicapping seminar at 10 a.m. with Daily Racing Form, analyzing the day’s Saratoga Race Course card, including the featured Jim Dandy, Saratoga Special, and Lake George.
Friday, Aug. 7 — Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony (at Fasig-Tipton)
Time: 10:30 a.m.
About: The Museum will induct the 2026 Hall of Fame Class, including horses Gulch, Kona Gold, and Mongo; trainers Christophe Clement and John Shirreffs; and Pillars of the Turf Prince Khalid bin Abdullah, Dr. Robert Copelan, Seth Hancock, G. Watts Humphrey, Jr., and Joseph Widener. Legendary broadcaster and horsewoman Charlsie Cantey will serve as master of ceremonies. The event is open to the public and free to attend (seating is limited). Doors open at 9:30 a.m. The ceremony will also be streamed live on the Museum website at racingmuseum.org.
Friday, Aug. 7 — 50th Museum Ball
Time: 7 p.m.
About: This year marks the 50th National Museum of Racing and Hall of Fame Ball. The theme for this classic black-tie event is Black and White. In honor of the 50th edition, we are excited to announce we will host an after party in the Hall of Fame! Celebrate the racing season and support the Museum and Hall of Fame at this signature Saratoga summer event.

Time: 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.
About: The Museum will offer free admission and there will be complimentary coffee and doughnuts courtesy of Stewart’s Shops and water courtesy of Saratoga Spring Water. The morning’s programming will include a handicapping seminar at 10 a.m. with Daily Racing Form, analyzing the day’s Saratoga Race Course card, including the featured Whitney Stakes, Fourstardave, Test, and Saratoga Derby. Photographer Lili Kobielski will be on hand to sign copies of her book At the Derby: Kentucky’s Grandest Celebration of Fashion (available for purchase).
Saturday, Aug. 15 — Racing Partnership and Syndicate Meet and Greet
Time: 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.
About: Learn how to get involved in thoroughbred ownership at any level by speaking with some of the top partnerships and syndicates in the sport! This meet and greet is free to attend as it is part of our Saturday Morning Social. Participating partnerships include Bourbon Lane Stable, Brown Road Racing, Centennial Farms, Country Life Farm, Dream Maker Racing, and Hibiscus Stables. The morning’s programming will include a handicapping seminar at 10 a.m. with Daily Racing Form, analyzing the day’s Saratoga Race Course card. There will also be a book signing with several of the contributors of The Racetracks of America: From the Colonial Days to the 21st Century.
Monday, Aug. 17 — Casino Night at the Museum
Time: 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
About: Join us for a night of high stakes and heart! Casino Night at the National Museum of Racing and Hall of Fame benefits both the Museum and the Permanently Disabled Jockeys Fund. Your bets will go a long way in supporting the legacy of horse racing and those who’ve given so much to the sport. Your ticket includes admission, food and beverage, and $250 worth of play. In addition to gaming, we will have a 50/50 raffle. Let’s roll the dice for a great cause!

Tuesday, Aug. 18 — Curator’s Tour: A Discerning Eye — The Art of Sir Alfred Munnings
Time: 11 a.m. to 12 p.m.
About: Join us for a tour of the new exhibit “A Discerning Eye — The Art of Sir Alfred Munnings” to get a behind-the-scenes look at the curation of this exhibition, including research and exhibit design, with guest curator Teresa Longyear. This tour takes place in the Museum’s von Stade Gallery. Space is limited, so get your tickets today! Tickets are free for Museum members (registration required) and admission is included in the non-Museum member ticket price. This tour involves standing for approximately one hour.

Tuesday, Aug. 25 — Rood & Riddle Tour
Time: 10 a.m.
About: Explore a one-of-a-kind equine medical facility at Rood & Riddle Hospital! Serving the community since 2013, Rood & Riddle provides equine patients with quality medical care and excellent service. The National Museum of Racing and Hall of Fame is proud to partner with Rood & Riddle to offer guests an inside look at the fascinating world of equine science and health. A Q+A session with your guide will follow the tour. We are pleased to offer this tour at no cost to our guests, thanks to the support of the New York Thoroughbred Breeding and Development Fund.
Rood & Riddle hospital is located at 63 Henning Road, Saratoga Springs, N.Y. You do not need to head to the Museum first; proceed directly to Rood & Riddle.

About: Get ready to kick off Travers Stakes weekend in Saratoga Springs with this wine and cheese event on Travers Stakes Eve! Enjoy refreshments in the Museum’s Cornelius Vanderbilt Whitney Courtyard with fellow Museum members and racing enthusiasts. This event is free for Museum members and $25 for non-members. Oklahoma Training Track Tours
Available through October, this exclusive, 60-minute behind-the-scenes walking tour of Saratoga Race Course’s famous training site offers guests the opportunity to experience the morning workouts and includes Museum admission. Reservations required (no children under the age of 10 permitted).

Capturing and Preserving Greatness: A Life’s Passion (The Photography and Historic Collections of Barbara D. Livingston, presented by Daily Racing Form)
On exhibition in the Museum’s McBean Gallery through Dec. 31, Capturing and Preserving Greatness: A Life’s Passion (The Photography and Historic Collections of Barbara D. Livingston, presented by Daily Racing Form) chronicles the remarkable photography career of Barbara D. Livingston, a six-time Eclipse Award winner, as well as several of the historic photo collections Livingston has acquired and preserved throughout her distinguished career. Livingston, the chief photographer at Daily Racing Form, co-curated the exhibit.
A Discerning Eye — The Art of Sir Alfred Munnings: Selections from a Private Collection
Artist Sir Alfred J. Munnings (1878–1959) studied, rode, bred, and lived with horses, instilling him with an extraordinary perception of the equine form and spirit. His work was widely admired during his time, and he was sought after by royalty and wealthy horse owners for commissions. Portraits of thoroughbreds and animated, vivid racing scenes established Munnings as a master of British Sporting Art. Munnings’ peers acknowledged his artistic talent by electing him President of the Royal Academy in 1944. This exhibit features a remarkable private collection of 29 paintings that explores a variety of subjects, demonstrating his versatility and mastery of the dynamic equine and human connection. A Discerning Eye, guest curated by Teresa Longyear, is on display in the von Stade Gallery through Sept. 13.
Walk of Fame at Saratoga Race Course
Check out the Museum’s satellite location at Saratoga Race Course to learn about the history of the sport and for family activities every racing day during the summer meeting. Additionally, items from the Museum collection will periodically be on display, including the 1932 Whitney Cup won by Equipoise (on display Aug. 7), the 2011 Sword Dancer trophy won by Anticipation (on display Aug. 14), the 1959 Alabama Stakes trophy won by High Bid (on display Aug. 21), and the 1971 Travers Stakes trophy won by Bold Reason (on display Aug. 28). Trophies are on display from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
