Join the National Museum of Racing and Hall of Fame on Saturday, September 24th for a unique and family friendly scavenger hunt at the Saratoga Race Course!  Teams will tour around the NYRA grounds with exclusive, post-season access, while learning about the history of thoroughbred racing and its connection to Saratoga Springs.   After the scavenger hunt, there will be pony rides, a petting zoo, crafts, refreshments and other fall family activities.  The scavenger hunt and activities will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Museum Day Live! is an annual celebration of boundless curiosity hosted by Smithsonian magazine. Participating museums and cultural institutions across the country provide entry to anyone presenting a Museum Day Live! ticket. The Museum Day Live! ticket provides free admission for two people.

Hall of Fame jockey Ramon Dominguez will sign posters by Greg Montgomery exclusively commissioned by the Museum to celebrate his 2016 Hall of Fame induction. Time: 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Location: Museum lobby. Cost: $20 per autographed poster.

Enjoy wine and cheese in the Museum courtyard with fellow Museum members and racing enthusiasts!

Cost: Free for Museum members, $10.00 general public

Meet author Barry Irwin of Team Valor International. Irwin will be in the Museum lobby autographing his book "Derby Innovator, the Making of Animal Kingdom." Books will be available for purchase in the Museum gift shop. Irwin is the founder of Team Valor International, a racing enterprise known throughout the world for its successful thoroughbreds, including the champion colt Animal Kingdom, winner of the most sought after prize in American racing in the Kentucky Derby, as well as the richest race on the planet, the $10 million Dubai World Cup.

Travers Stakes Preview Panel. Racing experts and handicappers Tom Amello and Jeff Carle analyze the 2016 edition of the “Midsummer Derby” and discuss the race’s prestigious history. Time: 11 a.m. Location: Hall of Fame. Cost: Included with paid Museum admission.

Artist Greg Montgomery will be signing copies of his 2016 Travers Stakes commemorative poster, the 31st in his annual series. Time: 10 a.m. to noon. Location: Museum lobby. Cost: Posters available for purchase.
