Ron Turcotte and Penny Chenery Double-Feature Film Screenings

Ron Turcotte and Penny Chenery double-feature film screenings at the  National Museum of Racing and Hall of Fame In partnership with Secretariat.com, the National Museum of Racing and Hall of Fame will present a special double-feature film screening of the documentaries “Secretariat’s Jockey, Ron Turcotte” and “Penny and Red, the Life of Secretariat’s Owner” in the Museum’s Hall of Fame Gallery on Sunday, Aug. 24.

 

Turcotte, who won the 1973 Triple Crown aboard Secretariat and was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 1979, will be a special guest at the event. The presentation will feature two distinct and acclaimed films, both sharing intimate views of two of Secretariat’s legendary connections, as well as rare historical and previously unreleased footage.

The evening’s festivities begin at 6 p.m. with an optional VIP reception with refreshments where guests will have an opportunity to meet and greet Turcotte and get an autograph prior to the screenings.

 

“Secretariat’s Jockey, Ron Turcotte,” produced by the National Film Board of Canada, will start at approximately 7 p.m. There will be a question and answer session with Turcotte following the 75-minute film followed by a brief intermission. “Penny and Red, the Life of Secretariat’s Owner” will begin at approximately 9 p.m. The film is approximately one hour long.

Tickets for the evening’s films can be purchased for $20 each exclusively through Secretariat.com, with the optional VIP reception and autograph tickets offered for $50 each. Event ticket sales will benefit the non-profit National Museum of Racing and Hall of Fame and the non-profit Secretariat Foundation established by Penny Chenery to assist equine welfare in areas of research, rehabilitation, retirement and recognition.

 

Tickets are available on a first-come basis at Secretariat.com and may also be purchased at the door (subject to availability) the night of the event.
