Flint (Scotty) Schulhofer has worked with Thoroughbreds since his teenage years in Aiken, SC. After World War II he first achieved success as a leading steeplechase rider but found the numerous injuries of this sport made training more attractive. Schulhofer took over for John Nerud when he retired as trainer for Tartan Farms. For Tartan Schulhofer trained his first of five champions, Ta Wee, leading sprinter 1969-70.
