Voted best of fillies at 2, Busher won the Adirondack, Matron and Selima Stakes before winning the Championship.

In a superb season at 3, Busher defeated fillies in the Santa Susana and the Cleopatra, beat colts in the San Vicente and Hollywood Derby, won against older fillies and mares in the Santa Margarita and Vanity Handicaps, and defeated older males in the Arlington Handicap. Busher's finest performance came in the Washington Park Handicap when she gave Armed four pounds and a beating while breaking the track record for 1 1/4 miles. She ended her 3-year-old season as the greatest money earning filly up to her time and was named Horse of the Year.

Busher produced one foal to race, stakes winner Jet Action.

Busher was inducted in the Hall of Fame in 1964.
