Princess Doreen was one of the top runners in her division. Not only could she beat other fillies, she could beat the colts as well. At 3 her best performances included the Coaching Club American Oaks and the Kentucky Oaks.
At 4 Princess Doreen beat colts in three of her best races. She won the Covington, carrying 130 pounds, the Autumn, carrying 133, and the Bowie Handicap. Among her victories at 5 and 6 were wins in the Saratoga, Inaugural, and Independence Handicaps. When she retired Princess Doreen held the career earnings record for fillies.
Princess Doreen was inducted in the Hall of Fame in 1982.
